The inspiration for my art comes from a love of nature and outdoor activity. Some of my earliest memories are of taking off my shoes and wading in a creek, picking up a pretty rock, looking at the moss and running my hands over it. There's something about moss that just makes me want to feel it. I create paintings from the Southeastern US, but also enjoy painting plein air in other places I visit. I love to spend a little time walking and exploring each new location before I start to paint. It allows me to soak up some of the color partnerships I find there; the way they integrate and harmonize with each other is usually first in my thought process.
I have been painting for over 40 years and won numerous awards at regional, National and International Juried Exhibitions. Several of my paintings were chosen in 2010 for the Georgia State Capital, offices of David Ralston, Speaker of the House: a 48x36" oil painting, and two smaller paintings. I have four large oil paintings that were commissioned for the Northeast Georgia Regional Hospital in Gainesville, GA, installed in the Surgical Wing waiting room. The same company also commissioned this year one large oil, 30"x66" for a new wing of a hospital in Braselton, GA. My paintings are in corporate and private collections across the United States. I was also honored to choose 60 colors for the "Marsha Savage Southeast Landscape Set" by Terry Ludwig Pastels. I am represented by Frameworks Gallery in Marietta GA, Magnolia Art Gallery in Greensboro GA, Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Assoc. in Blue Ridge GA, and Xanadu Gallery in their On-Line Gallery. Please support these galleries -- visit and let them know you want to see work by Marsha Savage! Please contact me if you are interested in any information or paintings at [email protected]. |

Despite her premature death at age 39, Flannery O’Connor left behind one of the most haunting and strikingly original bodies of work in 20th Century literature. With the rural South as her backdrop, she brought to life a string of eccentric characters torn between their worldly ambitions and the need for a more enduring truth.
This film traces the people and events that shaped her remarkable career, as well as the important role that Catholicism played in her writing. Featuring expert commentary and rare photographs, Uncommon Grace will give you a new appreciation for this highly celebrated, yet often misunderstood, storyteller. |

Clemmons has a degree in business administration from Reinhardt University and a degree in creative writing from Georgia State University.
